A Wedding at Iron Horse Music Hall
I was absolutely thrilled when Alejandra and Max reached out to have me photograph their wedding at Iron Horse Music Hall. A huge thanks to the Iron Horse team for recommending me, it was an honor to be part of such a special day in a place that holds so much history for me.
From our very first Zoom call, I knew I was going to love working with these two. Alejandra and Max have such laid-back, kindhearted energy, and our conversation flowed effortlessly. At one point, we started talking about the band that would be performing at the wedding, High Tea, and I was so excited because they are also my clients and friends. Talk about a full-circle moment. It all just felt meant to be.
I’ve been photographing concerts at Iron Horse since the very beginning of my photography career, over a decade ago. I've captured countless musicians within those iconic walls, but this was the first time I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding there. And let me tell you, I hope it’s the first of many. The newly remodeled venue and bar is the perfect mix of charm, character, and musical history. Iron Horse is such a unique place for a celebration like this.
The entire day flowed with ease and full of beautiful moments. I was lucky to have Ally Montemagni of Freetide Creative assisting me throughout the day and night. We kicked things off with portraits of the couple both outside and inside the bar area, followed by family photos out front. Thankfully, the weather was on our side throughout the day.
The ceremony took place right on the stage, which was such a cool setting under the stage lights. Then came cocktail hour, more amazing music from High Tea (they custom wrote a song for the couple...pure magic.), heartfelt speeches from family, and a surprise magic trick to start off a touching speech from Alejandra’s dad, who happens to be a magician!
And of course, the dancing. Alejandra’s DJ friend flew in from LA to bring the energy. The night ended on a high note, with lots of moving and grooving... and I heard there was chicken and waffles to top it off.
It was such a joy to document this day. Here’s to more weddings at Iron Horse! May this be the start of a new tradition.
